MCBC GROUP RIDES
Last year the weather canceled many of our planned rides but this year we are getting back on our bikes with a vengeance.
The Club offers weekly rides spring through fall. There are different riding groups with different skill levels. See below for a ride that suits you. Times for these rides are subject to change. All rides will be posted by MONDAY on the MCBC Facebook page.
Helmets are required. Be at the meeting point 10-15 minutes before starting time.
Wear bright clothing. Bike lights are very helpful.
Abide by driving rules, signal when turning, stop at intersections, ride single file, be aware of vehicles behind and passing you.

MELONHEAD Afternoon/Evening Rides
WHO: Most of us are retired or nearly retired people in a riding group who do enjoy a brew after the miles.
WHAT: Usually start at the Legion, slightly adjust our attitude before riding the trail thru Deep Lakes Park, and then sometimes on to Fruitland. We are relics so ride at about 10-15 mph on the flats. We then head back to the Legion for cheap beer and free popcorn before riding home. When days are longer, will begin to extend rides. Recommend head and tail lights as sometimes we do nighttime trail rides (Great fun in the summer months) or ride home at dusk.
WHERE: Start and end at the American Legion Hall-Houser and Hershey. Look for Melon Jerseys. Good weather we’re usually on the patio/cold weather find us indoors.
WHEN: Spring:3PM/Summer: 2PM/Fall: TBD. Start time varies with season. Also, sometimes ride Saturdays by driving to trails in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, QC. Coordinated by Dave Bender.
WHY: Because Bike rides are about the memories….not the miles.
